On January 18th, Heartwood Sound welcomed hundreds of indie music fans from all over for Playground Music Festival's third year. Hosted by flipturn, Playground is a festival that showcases both big and small artists, along with a handful of vendors.

Prizilla entered the stage as the first act, bringing an exciting and engaging energy to the festival. Prizilla blends elements of funk and soul into their pop sound. Moments of saxophone solos are incorporated into their songs, keeping a lively, danceable energy. Following Prizilla was Buboy, a young Gainesville-based indie musician inspired by artists like beabadoobee and Dominic Fike. Buboy sang about his experiences dealing with life and relationships.

Throughout the night, there were a few artists from outside of Florida, such as lighthearted, hallpass, The Brook and The Bluff, and Nordista Freeze's Space Prom. Space Prom was an '80s-themed DJ set where members from each of the bands performing that night took turns performing a song. Space Prom brought an energetic vibe to the night, preparing fans for flipturn's set, which closed the festival.

Finally, flipturn took the stage, starting with songs from their new album Burnout Days, accompanied by dramatic backlit lighting. Despite the constant rain, flipturn turned the night into a dance party, bringing people together for a memorable evening. Ending with a few of their popular songs like "Chicago" and "Nickel," the band was joined on stage by some staff members and bandmates for a final song, closing out the third year of Playground Music Festival.
