SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER LIVE AT THE ORPHEUM

In a world where bands are popping up and releasing music left and right, it is incredibly rare to get the opportunity to hear music from your favorite '90s/early 2000s band. Sixpence None the Richer just completed their anniversary tour around the United States, and I had the pleasure of attending and photographing this amazing concert!

Sixpence performed at The Orpheum, an intimate venue in Tampa, Florida, to a crowd of both young and old, proving how truly timeless their music is. Their hits, such as "Kiss Me" and "Don't Dream It's Over," as well as their new songs like "Julia," connected with all audiences.

Going into this concert, I will admit, I only knew enough Sixpence songs to count on one hand. While I was not taking photos or singing along, I found myself Shazam-ing nearly every song and have been an avid listener ever since.

All of the different elements on stage—the lights and the electric crowd—gave a sense of rejuvenation that you can only get from hearing classic music in person. Between songs, Leigh shared stories from the tour and her life as a musician, and I couldn't help but think, "I hope I get to live a life like hers." Watching the band perform, the passion of the group was evident, and I left with the feeling that this was the best place I could have been that night.
